Alexandra Sdoukou
General Secretary for Energy and Mineral Resources (GSEMR) at the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy
Alexandra Sdoukou is the General Secretary for Energy and Mineral Resources (GSEMR) at the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy. She took the office in July 2019. Since 2004, she has been working as legal advisor in public administration, serving in various positions in the Ministries of Economy, Development as well as Environment, Energy & Climate Change. She is specialised as an energy policymaker, working uninterruptedly with all Energy Ministers between 2007 and 2015. Notably, from 2012 to 2015 she served as the Head of Cabinet of the Minister for Environment, Energy & Climate Change. Between 2017 and 2019, she served as the special advisor to the President of Nea Dimokratia (EPP group), who is currently the Prime Minister of Greece, on issues relating to energy and mineral resources. Alexandra Sdoukou holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Democritus University of Thrace, a master’s degree (L.L.M) in European Commercial Law from the University of Bristol, UK, and a M.Sc. in International & Economic studies from the Athens University of Economics & Business. She is a mother of three children which is the greatest, yet most rewarding, challenge in her life.
