Gregory Maniatis

From 2017 to 2021, Maniatis was director of the International Migration Initiative. Previously, he served as senior advisor to Peter Sutherland, the UN Special Representative for Migration from 2006 to 2017; as senior fellow at the Migration Policy Institute in Washington from 2003 to 2016; as co-director of the Migration Project at Columbia University from 2014 to 2016; and as a consultant to the European Commission and numerous European governments. His reportage and commentary have appeared in many publications, including the New York Times, Foreign Affairs, the Wall Street Journal, New York magazine, and the Washington Post. Earlier in his career, he was the founder and publisher of Odyssey, an international magazine about Greece and the Greek diaspora.
